Station Closures

Metro stations periodically close entries and/or exits for repairs during announced and sign-posted hours (generally not peak hours). All you can do in this situation is go back or forward a station or, if it is an interchange, to the sister station. With the exception of stations in or near the centre, the city may provide buses to link you to the nearest station. Note: If you are riding to Ploshchad Muzestva or further down the red line, you will have the pleasure of travelling the Lesnaya to Ploshchad Muzestva sector by bus, number 80, (which is free). In 1996 this section of the line collapsed into what authorities described as a "spot of quicksand 1.5 kilometers long". It's going to take a while to fix this spot: at least two years and most likely a whole lot longer, and if you are in that part of town it's probably best to avoid muddy patches on the sidewalk.
